Jefferson/Franklin County Correctional Facility is a sheriff-operated regional facility that can hold local detainees and MDOC prisoners. The research found no official evidence that it operates as an ICE detention center or has an ICE contract. The sound claim is narrower: an individual can be subject to an immigration detainer or can transfer to federal immigration custody. That possibility must be proved person by person.

The ICE Online Detainee Locator offers two search paths. The identifier path uses the nine-digit A-number and country of birth. The biographical path uses exact first and last names, country of birth, and an optional date of birth. An A-number is an immigration file identifier, not a JCCF booking number or an MDOC ID. That window is far shorter than the historical reach of the federal BOP locator. After it passes, an empty search says little about a past immigration custody episode.

Get Jefferson County ICE Records
